Your website consists of "content" which is visible to visitors and "coding" which is invisible to visitors but controls how your website is displayed in browsers (such as Internet Explorer and Netscape) and provides information for visiting search engines

A poorly coded web site will rank poorly in search engines whilst a well coded website will rank highly. Here are just a few examples of good quality coding - does your web site measure up?:

• Your Title (its an html tag) is important and should be optimised quite simply by placing the keyword or phrase that you have chosen to target first and finish with the name of your company or website.
• Your metatitle and metadescription are important and should be optimised to include you most valued search terms but should remain legible and engaging.
• Your styling and scripting should be "off-page" where the serach engines can safely ignore it.
• Your pages should be less than 100k otherwise the search engines may not read the whole page and could miss your most important content.
• Your images should all contain alt tags (note that search engines cannot read the text in images even though you can)
